It’s an inevitability of life up here.

The muskeg and swamps interspersed with thick forest and hayfields create prime mosquito habitat. Add in extra standing water from a long winter and an extremely wet spring and years like this one can quickly become unbearable.

So thick they sound like an indy car race in the distance. A constant hum.

The only salvation, a strong wind.
